Everyone is left saying the same thing after spotting surprising detail at Jeff Bezos’ $56,000,000 wedding

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his partner, former TV anchor Lauren Sánchez—now officially Lauren Sánchez Bezos—were married on Friday (June 27) in the historic Italian city. While the newlyweds may be basking in joy, the internet has been buzzing with commentary that threatens to cast a shadow over their celebration.

Much of the online chatter revolves around the high-profile guest list at the 61-year-old billionaire’s wedding to his 55-year-old bride. Among the attendees were NFL legend Tom Brady, Hollywood stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Sydney Sweeney, and Orlando Bloom, media mogul Oprah Winfrey, and nearly the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan. Kourtney Kardashian didn’t attend, and former President Donald Trump also skipped the event. However, his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner were present. Critics online have slammed the event, accusing the couple of hosting a wedding not for close friends, but to flaunt their social standing.

One user wrote, “Bezos and Lauren had only 200 guests at their wedding, and they chose to invite celebrities like Sydney Sweeney and Leo DiCaprio. That tells me they don’t have real friends.”

Another chimed in: “Weddings like this aren’t about relationships—they’re about image. A limited guest list filled with A-listers screams status symbol. It’s honestly kind of depressing that someone as rich and influential as Bezos still plays these kinds of games. Feels like a textbook midlife crisis.”

Still, not everyone shared the critical view. Some came to the couple’s defense, arguing that 200 guests is hardly a small affair.

“Let’s be honest—no one really has 200 friends,” one person commented. “People just fill up the list with random acquaintances and distant relatives. Or in big families, half the list are cousins you’ve never met.”

Another added: “If I had even a sliver of their money, I’d absolutely invite random celebrities too. Why not shoot invites to Beyoncé or Dakota Johnson? Just for the fun of it.”

Someone else offered a more practical take: “People forget these elites constantly see each other at exclusive galas, charity events, and high-society gatherings. They actually do cross paths a lot.”
